Herd It All Before
Original Art by Marnie Miller
Museum-Quality Fine Art Prints on Canvas & Archival Paper from an Original Hand-Painted Artwork by Marnie Miller (Texas, b. 1971)
Herd It All Before is a joyful, expressive celebration of wild horses—their spirit, hierarchy, and untamed independence—captured through bold abstraction, rich texture, and intuitive palette knife work. This painting is a love letter to the herd: the kings and queens, the quiet followers, the protectors, the rebels, and the watchers who all play their part in a living, breathing tribe.
Each horse carries its own personality, story, and energy. Some stand tall and dominant, others lean in quietly, and a few seem to dance just outside the rules—yet together they form a balanced, powerful community. There is an unspoken chain of command here, a natural order built on instinct, trust, obedience, and respect rather than force. No human presence. No intervention. Just wild horses, free and self-governed, moving through life exactly as they were meant to.
Painted with thick, confident strokes and layered textures, the surface reveals the artist’s hand and emotion in every mark. Palette knife work creates movement and rhythm, while drips and scraped lines add spontaneity and life. The deep blue background anchors the composition, allowing vibrant reds, golden yellows, crisp whites, earthy blacks, and playful patterns to rise forward with confidence and charm.
Despite its strength, Herd It All Before carries a sense of warmth and approachability. It feels alive, curious, and friendly—inviting viewers of all ages to linger and imagine the stories unfolding within the herd. It’s a piece that sparks conversation, imagination, and connection.
This artwork is wonderfully versatile. It makes a striking statement in living rooms, offices, and entryways, while also fitting beautifully in children’s rooms, nurseries, schools, classrooms, and playrooms. There is something universally comforting and inspiring about horses standing together—strong, free, and united.
Hand-painted from start to finish, this piece embodies Marnie Miller’s deep love for wild horses and her fascination with their social structures, individuality, and fierce independence. It’s simple and playful at first glance, yet layered with meaning, motion, and heart the longer you look.

Care instructions
Original art is usually a mixture of mediums ranging from watercolor, oil, acrylic and textiles... Sometimes leaves and sticks. The creative process is most unpredictable. Each piece is well protected with three coats of heirloom quality clear acrylic and will not yellow or discolor over time. I cant stress the importance of protecting you original art from water damage, excess moisture, condensation or extreme heat. I don't recommend glass over any original artwork unless it is recessed in a shadow box type frame. When framing prints, be sure to use only acid free materials and galvanized or stainless metals. If you have questions about mounting, hanging or storing your art, don't hesitate to message me. I'm here to help.
